The Evening

There's a moment when you realize that the things you live with were chosen by someone. Not manufactured. Chosen. That moment changes how you see everything in your home.

Ten of us will gather in a space built for makers. You will blend and pour your own candle, layered with fragrance you choose, into a vessel from another continent. The founder of Villa Aburi will walk you through every choice: why this fragrance, why this vessel, why intention matters when you're layering scent into glass. And in ninety minutes, you will understand something you didn't before.

When you light that candle at home, you won't just smell it. You'll remember the hands that shaped it, the choices you made, the moment you understood that beautiful things don't happen by accident.

The Vessel

Before you pour a single drop of fragrance, you hold something that already carries intention. What you hold is mouth-blown glass from Morocco. It is not mass-produced. It has weight. It has form.

When the founder walks you through the process, you will understand that this is not an empty container waiting to be filled. This is a maker's vision, complete in itself. You are not starting from nothing. You are completing something that began on another continent, in the hands of another artisan.

When you leave, you will carry that vessel home. The candle you make in it holds its meaning.

The Fragrance

Villa Aburi does not design scents in labs. Their fragrances are inspired by the botanicals of Aburi Botanical Gardens in Ghana, and layered by someone who has spent years understanding how these elements move together. You will choose from a range of fragrances. Florals. Musks. Fruity notes. Each one blended from essential oils and absolutes. It's phthalate-free. What you burn is intention, crafted with care.

When the founder tells you the story behind each fragrance, you will hear about specific plants, specific choices, specific reasons. Labdanum. Cedarwood. Each one chosen because it means something. Because it creates a moment. The candle itself is made from a pure wax blend: apricot, coconut, and soy. Safe, eco-friendly, and crafted to burn cleanly. A premium cotton wick. Everything chosen because it matters.

The fragrance you choose will smell like intention. Like knowledge. Like someone who understands that scent becomes the invisible architecture of your home.

Meet Villa Aburi

Villa Aburi is a lifestyle brand rooted in heritage, designed for today. From an Afro-Caribbean perspective, they tell stories through design: fragrances, textiles, and home goods that honor ancestral wisdom and sustainability practices long before modernization. Every piece carries intention because every piece carries culture. They don't just make beautiful objects. They create space for voices that have been historically left out of design.
