Did you know… The blue in your jeans traces its roots back to Africa? Long before denim became a global staple, West African artisans were dyeing textiles with natural indigo, a deep, sacred blue extracted from local plants. These early indigo traditions shaped the foundation for what we now recognize as denim culture. Every pair of jeans carries echoes of that legacy, a story of craftsmanship, resilience, and the enduring influence of African artistry on modern life.
Sustainability Note
This Mi Cocina Denim Waist Apron is designed to last. Crafted in 100% cotton denim, a natural fabric that softens and ages beautifully.
About Mi Cocina

Ulrich Conrad Simpson, the founder of Mi Cocina, is a visionary who has skillfully shifted from iconic American sportswear to culinary design. With more than 30 years of experience collaborating with renowned international brands such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Diane Von Furstenberg, Caterpillar, and Coach, Ulrich's dedication to quality, craftsmanship, and the development of lifestyle brands has consistently been his foundation.
In 1999, he introduced the U.S. to his premium jeans collection, showcasing his commitment to craftsmanship and authenticity. Yet, it was the arrival of his daughter, Gabriella, that motivated a shift toward the kitchen, leading to the founding of Mi Cocina. Cooking for his daughter inspired Ulrich to uphold traditions in the kitchen with his own family, sparking a deeper appreciation for meaningful creation.
