Sika Stool

Sale price$450.00

Where form meets heritage.

Most stools are simply functional, designed to be tucked away, unnoticed. But your space deserves more than a placeholder. You’re searching for something that holds presence. Something that speaks, even in stillness.

Mass-produced seating often lacks the soul and story that give a space depth. Without cultural richness and artisanal care, a stool becomes invisible. But what if a stool could feel iconic, crafted not just for sitting, but for significance?

The Sika Stool - Designed by Tekura is a quiet homage to legacy, artistry and modern African home decor. Inspired by the Akan word sika, meaning “gold,” this sculptural piece reflects the timeless values of prestige, wealth, and excellence. Hand-carved by Ghanaian artisans from locally sourced, reclaimed wood, it brings warmth, history, and craftsmanship into your home.

With its gently contoured seat and elegant proportions, The Sika Stool balances strength and grace. Whether used as an accent beside a console, a thoughtful perch in a reading nook, or a sculptural side table, it invites you to pause and appreciate.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Art as furniture – With its elegant curves and clean lines, The Sika Stool blurs the line between sculpture and seat.

  • Rooted in symbolism – “Sika” is more than a name, it’s a cultural nod to prosperity and excellence in Akan heritage.

  • Handcrafted tradition – Made by master artisans in Ghana using generational techniques and reclaimed wood.

  • Sustainably made – Each piece supports conscious living and honours the material’s past life.

  • Perfectly versatile – Use it as extra seating, a side table, or a stand-alone accent that sparks conversation.

  • Compact yet impactful – Designed to elevate small corners with intention and beauty.

Let your home reflect meaning with the Sika Stool - Designed by Tekura, not just style.

Crab Table

When I purchased the Crab Table, I wasn’t 100% sure where I’d place it or how I’d use it—I just knew it was beautiful and needed to be part of my home. It turns out this piece is incredibly versatile! So far, I’ve styled it as a display for carved artwork, a lamp stand, a plant stand, and even a drink stand. No matter how I use it, it’s always a showstopper. It’s by far the most complimented piece in my home.

Hi Tova,
Thank you for such a thoughtful and affirming review. We're honoured that you trusted us enough to bring the Crab Table into your home, even before knowing exactly where it would land. Its versatility and presence are exactly what we hoped it would offer, and hearing how it's become your most complimented piece means a great deal. Thank you again for making pieces from September Collective part of your space.
Warmly,
